Remote Gateway 9100 Series

Overview:

Remote Gateway 9100 Series contains a combination of innovative products that allow remote users, whether individuals at home or groups of employees in small offices, to access the full complement of Meridian 1, SL-100, and Communication Server 1000 features.

Remote Gateway 9110 and 9115:

Seamlessly extend your communications to remote users.

Remote workers using the Remote Gateway 9110 or 9115 can enjoy all the same functionality and features of Meridian 1, Meridian SL-100, or Communication Server 1000 their co-workers have at the main office.

Utilizing IP Telephony running on broadband services such as DSL, cable modems, or other high performance IP broadband networks, Remote Gateway 9110 and 9115 provide full-featured voice communications between at-home workers and their headquarters site, while maintaining voice quality and reliability.

Key Features:

  • Transparent Feature & Application Access - access to the full range of features and applications available on Meridian 1, Meridian SL-100, and Communication Server 1000, including CallPilot Unified Messaging and Optivity Telephony Manager.
  • Secure - compatible with many different security models and can operate over a Nortel Contivity 100 for fully encrypted operation.
  • Guaranteed Voice Quality - live calls switch to analog line if IP performance degrades.
  • Flexible - supports traditional analog line, broadband IP connection, or both.
  • Easy to Install and Support - requires no end-user retraining and follows similar programming of remote phones as local headquarters phones.
  • Local Calling Feature - provides alternative access to local analog line for local calls.
  • E911 Compatibility - E-911 calls routed correctly to the local analog line for fast local response.
  • Scalable - supports up to 16 simultaneous users per slot. Multiple boards in a system can scale up to large installations.

Remote Gateway 9150:

Remote Gateway 9150 is the first full-featured remote product to leverage the IP WAN to carry voice between remote offices and their headquarters. The primary route for voice connectivity to the Meridian 1 and SL-100 can be over the packet or circuit-switched network depending on customer requirements and preferences.

Remote Gateway 9150 is a powerful option for extending cost-effective, high-quality communications to remote offices. It leverages investment in Meridian 1 and SL-100 systems by extending Meridian Digital Telephones and all their features to a remote site. High-value applications such as Call Pilot, Meridian Mail and Symposium Call Center Server at the main Meridian 1 site can be seamlessly shared by Remote Gateway 9150 users. This allows state-of-the-art features and functionality to be delivered to users at even the smallest remote offices.

Features:

  • Actively monitors key QoS parameters on VoIP sessions.
  • Dynamically switches calls from packet networks to circuit-switched networks if voice quality degrades.
  • Seamlessly supports distributed call center agents to a small office from a single call center server
  • BRI trunk connections support local inbound and outbound calls providing a "local presence" and toll savings
  • Fully survivable if remote unit loses contact with Meridian 1 or SL-100
  • Supports multiple codecs to maximize WAN bandwidth.
  • G.729 (8 kbps.) encoding supports up to 8 simultaneous calls back to the Meridian 1 on a single ISDN B channel
  • Extension to extension calls are locally switched at the remote site

Benefits:

  • Leverages investment in high-value applications
  • Maintains high voice quality via QoS transitioning technology
  • Efficient use of bandwidth with voice compression
  • Reduces unnecessary toll charges by providing dial tone from the host Meridian 1 or local central office.
  • Provides a "local presence" by supporting inbound calls through local central office
  • E911 calls at remote are automatically switched to local central office
  • Simplified management with only one database to maintain
  • Provides an integrated solution which installs in IPE slots of Meridian 1 and SL-100 systems for easy installation and management
