Overview

The Integrated Recorded Announcer Release 3.0 Card (IRA) is a fully integrated, multi-featured, digital recorded announcer and music-on-hold service card that empowers your business with improved customer contact. Without increasing staff or operating costs. IRA provides callers with 24-hour easy access to important recorded information, such as your company's business hours and locations, special promotions, schedules of events, advertisements and much more.

Key Features:
  • Improved customer satisfaction with 24-hour customer access
  • Increased staff productivity - IRA can handle the "routine" inquiries
  • Reduced operating costs
  • Web-based Browser User Interface (BUI) via Ethernet connection to the LAN for scheduling of announcements and administration
  • Telephone-based menu driven user interface (TUI)

Features & Benefits:

IRA Release 3.0 cards are supported in 2 (small), 4 (medium) and 8 (large) port configurations. IRA 3.0 small option cards can support up to 60 concurrent callers with recorded announcement. IRA 3.0 medium option cards can support up to 120 concurrent callers with recorded announcement. Finally, IRA 3.0 large option cards can support up to 240 concurrent callers with recorded announcement. IRA Release 3.0 small option cards can expand to both medium and large options if greater concurrent caller capacity is required. IRA 3.0 medium option cards can expand to the large option offering as well. Expansions are handled via simple keycode activation making IRA very cost-effective and scalable!

Other features include:

  • Remote recording
  • Immediate message exchange and emergency playback
  • Flexible time-of-day messaging
  • In-service recording switchover
  • Keycode-activated expansions/upgrades
  • 24 minutes recording time as standard up to a maximum of 5 hours via PCMCIA
  • Multiple passwords for increased security

IRA Release 3.0 also reduces costs versus 3rd party recorded announcer systems. IRA eliminates the need and expense of additional cabling, separate battery backup and power supply equipment - often hidden costs with 3rd party adjunct solutions.

As an integrated solution, IRA Release 3.0 provides high quality and feature rich recorded announcements consuming only a single card slot in Meridian 1 Intelligent Peripheral Equipment (IPE) housings or the Media Gateway Chassis of CSE 1000.

IRA Release 3.0 is supported on X11 Release 19 and later for Meridian 1 (X11 Release 22 and later if wishing to utilize RAN and/or MUSIC Broadcast features for scalability) and Release 1.0 and later for CSE 1000.

Technical Specifications:

  • IRA 3.0 hardware:
    • Intel IXP 1200 (Strong Arm) Network Processor

    • PCMCIA slot that accepts standard PCMCIA flash cards, including ATA Flash cards. Nortel supplies PCMCIA adaptors, which allow compact flash cards to be used in this slot.
    • Maintenance HEX display for designation of the IRA application running on the Media Card (IRA, ITG 2.1 Trunk etc) along with fault conditions upon boot up of IRA 3.0 card.
    • RS-232 maintenance port for temporary maintenance terminal connections
    • "Audio- Adaptor"
    • Resides at rear of IRA Card and mounts to I/O panel of Succession Meridian 1 IPE and CSE 1000 Media Gateway
    • One RJ-45 10Base-T connection for connectivity to LAN
