Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is part of the evolving end-to-end digital telecommunications network architecture which provides for the simultaneous access, transmission and switching of voice, data, and image services via channelized transport facilities over a limited number of standard user-network interfaces.

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is available from Ironton Telephone for both Business and Residential customers. ISDN is available as a Basic Rate Interface (BRI) or a Primary Rate Interface (PRI). Basic Rate Interface (BRI) provides two bearer (B) channels of 64Kbps each and a data (D) channel at 16Kbps. The two B channels are used for voice, video, or high-speed data while the D channel is used for Signaling and low speed data transmission. Also commonly known as 2B+D.

Primary Rate Interface (PRI) provides 23 bearer (B) channels of 64Kbps each and a Data (D) channel at 64Kbps. This is the ISDN equivalent of a T-1 delivered to a customer's premise. Also commonly known as 23B+D.

Notes:

(1) Each minute or fraction thereof which exceeds the monthly usage allowance in the option stated above will be billed an additional charge of $.02 per minute peak and $.01 per minute off peak. Peak time is Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Off peak is Monday thru Friday 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM to include all day Saturday and Sunday. Monthly allowance does not apply for PRI service.

(2) If more than one PRI is ordered, customer can choose if they want one or two 'D' channels. If customer chooses two 'D' channels an additional cost will apply for setting up second 'D' channel.
