CALL ANSWERING AND YOUR CALLER

Call answering is convenient for your callers as well as for you. If you are busy or away from your phone, callers can leave a message instead of calling again.

Greetings your callers hear:
No answer greeting:
When you do not answer your phone, your callers hear the personalized greeting you have recorded. If you have not recorded a greeting, your callers will hear a standard system greeting.

Full mailbox greeting:
This greeting plays if you have allowed your mailbox to become full and your callers can not leave messages.

After hearing your personalized greeting, your callers will be informed that the mailbox is full. They will then be disconnected.
Busy greeting:
This greeting is optional and tells callers your line is busy. It plays first, followed by your personal greeting (if you recorded one).
Knowing that you are there allows the caller to leave a more specific message. Check with your service representative to see if busy notification is available on your system.

Caller options:

Leaving a message:
At the end of your personalized greeting, your callers hear a 'beep' tone. This is the signal to leave a message. Your service representative can tell you the maximum length of message your callers can record. To end their message session, callers simply hang up. If callers do not want to hang up, but want call answering to disconnect (in order to make a second credit card call, for example), they can press Star Key
Star Key.

Accessing another number:
Callers can be transferred to another number, if this option is available, by pressing Zero Key before or after leaving a message.

Bypassing your greeting:
Your caller can press Pound Key to skip your greeting and go directly to recording a message.

This is convenient feature for someone who calls you frequently and does not need to hear your greeting each time.

Mailbox security:
Callers can not access your mailbox unless they know your password. This protects the security of your mailbox.
