To avoid unnecessary service charges, please follow the trouble shooting guides in this section.
There is no billing to the subscriber for the following:
- The problem is at the Network Interface Device (NID).
- The problem is located in Ironton's Telephone Network
- The problem is with a jack covered under a monthly maintenance charge.
- The telephone cable and jack must be installed by Ironton Telephone Co. technicians to be eligable for a maintenance agreement.
- The problem is with a phone rented from Ironton Telephone Co.
If a trouble is reported and it is Customer Owned Wiring (COW) or Ironton Telephone Company Wiring and the subscriber does't have Station Wiring Maintenance:
- $20.00 Service Charge
- If no trouble is found at the Network Interface Device (NID)
- $85.00 per hour plus materials (effective June 1st, 2002)
- If subscriber wants Ironton Telephone to work on the inside wiring while a technician is there.
- Billing is calculated in 1/2 hour increments - minimum of 1/2 hour
If a trouble is reported and it is Ironton Telephone Company Wiring and the subscriber does have Station Wiring Maintenance:
- $20.00 Service Charge
- If no trouble is found at the Network Interface Device (NID) or at the Jacks.
- If the problem is proven to be a Customer Owned Equipment Problem.
- No Charge (N/C)
- If the problem is in the inside wiring (I/S) and it is under a monthly maintenance charge.
